Websites: Africa Australia Infrastructure Conference 2013

Written by Sabrina. Posted in Portfolio, Websites

AAIC 2013We have been working with OctoberFirst Consulting for several years now, and assisted with web development, marketing and promotion for last year’s inaugural Africa Australia Infrastructure Conference.

Getting a new international conference off the ground is always a challenge, and the hard work paid off, with the Conference a success and plenty of interest from sponsors and speakers for this year’s event.

This year the website we have developed has a new face and a streamlined booking system. We are assisting with conference management too for the 2013 conference, and look foward to a lively and multicultural event.

Websites: The O’Connell Group

O'Connell GroupGraham Evans of The O’Connell Group has been our valued client for more than ten years, so it was a pleasure to revamp his website earlier this year.

Visit oconnellgroup.com.au and have a look at the slick Services page with the side tabs; a cool way to display your capabilities.

We pulled newsletter feeds in from MailChimp for this site too, as well as designing headers for Graham’s newsletters.

Websites: Comptel

ComptelThe Comptel team wanted a new look for their ageing website, and with WordPress they got a sleek site they can edit themselves – another tick on their wish list.

Comptel works with businesses rather than individuals, and the new site better shows off their professionalism. Stock images in the slider are conceptual and fresh, and work well with the blue sky background.

Additional coding from Cyrius Media.

Visit this site at comptel.net.au.

Websites: RydeNFly

RydeNFlyOur latest build is for new kid on the block in the airport shuttle business, Frank Di Palma of RydeNFly. Frank’s shuttle service covers Sydney’s northern districts, taking passengers to and from Sydney Airport, Darling Harbour and the CBD. The immaculate new 14 seater bus is also available for charter. Frank’s brief was that he wanted a small and simple site, with the ability to take shuttle bookings. Like his bus, he wanted it clean and crisp. Frank is delighted with his site, and tells us the booking forms work a treat; he gets instant emails on his smart phone. Oh, and the site has, like any modern site should, a mobile version for execs on the go wanting to book a shuttle. Visit rydenfly.com.au

Websites: It’s About Time Fitness

Written by Sabrina. Posted in Portfolio, Services, Websites

It's About Time FitnessOur newest client Helen James of It’s About Time Fitness is delighted with her new website which we completed this week.

Helen works mainly with mature women over forty who want to get fit but for whatever reason don’t like traditional gyms and fitness centres, and offers personal training and group fitness in the great outdoors – namely in a gorgeous park in Sydney’s inner west.

She wanted a clean and simple design that would work with her corporate blue and pink colours.

Helen is going to use the site not just as a business card but as a blog too with regular health and fitness tips.

In the back end we have all the features she needs including anti-spam measures, captcha on forms, caching to enhance performance, one-click backup and more. When her social media accounts are up and running we’ll be adding those too. In the meantime we’re working on her SEO.

If you’d like a gorgeous site like this one, do contact us!

A sparkling world – the Sydney Diamante website

Written by Sabrina. Posted in News, Portfolio, Services, Websites

Sydney Diamante

We’ve just finished the build on an e-commerce site for Sydney Diamante and Dance Supplies.

This business is family-run, and the brief was to make it fun and friendly rather than corporate, as owner Helen McGrath treats her customers with old-fashioned friendship and courtesy.  ”Plenty of sparkly bits” was the order, and we’ve fulfilled that with a gently animated background, and sparkly backgrounds for several images including deep-etched dresses and other decorated items in the site’s photo galleries.

The e-commerce side features a shop where people can buy a range of diamantes, decorations and sew-on stones for dress and costume decoration. It’s very easy to use for visitors. Behind the scenes lies a complex pricing structure driven by the powerful WooCommerce software. Complex it may be but it will be easy for Helen to update and add to.  For visitors who don’t want to shop online we have provided a downloadable order form.

Sydney Diamante’s clients include stage shows such as Fame, Dr Zhivago, Spamalot and more, and Helen has decorated costumes for So You Think You Can Dance and Underbelly Razor among others. Her services are highly sought after and when you see her gallery you’ll understand why.

Sydney Diamante is one of the biggest suppliers of Swarovski diamantes in Australia to the dance and theatrical world; we know its new website will keep it at the top of the tree.

A new website for RBF

RBF's new member directoryI’ve been building and maintaining the website for umbrella chamber of commerce Ryde Business Forum since January 2001, and today loaded up and gave the final tweak to the fifth website I’ve built for the organisation.

It had been in the back of my mind to build a WordPress site for the Forum since last winter; the more I work with WordPress the more I like it both as a platform to build on and as an editor when the site is up.

hr2go vital peoplePamela Dickerson provides HR services to companies of all sizes across Australia from her base in Dubbo, particularly in the mining and construction industries.  She needed a site which would load quickly and allow visitors to buy and download documentation.

Once again WordPress provided the appropriate solution for Pamela’s needs.
